Los 49 mejores lugares para fotos en Austin (2025)

The Oasis On Lake Travis serves as a beautiful lookout deck perched atop a hill, providing panoramic views of the lake. The restaurant offers an extensive menu of Tex-Mex favorites, including tacos, nachos, and salads.

The drive to get there through winding roads is beautiful. The place itself is lush and stunning. The many different stores and shops within all surrounded by gorgeous plants and flowers and amazing statues and wood sculptures. The wait in line to get in is well worth it. The whole entirety is just amazingly decorated. The staff is extremely superb and attentive. The food is just out of this world! I am just in awe of the beauty here. Not to mention the main attraction is the breathtaking view of Lake Travis while you dine outside. It's no wonder this is a local favorite! This being my first visit, I will definitely add this to my list of repeats! We'll done oasis!!!

It's a spacious restaurant that offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is friendly and the view of Lake Travis is beautiful! The food is decent and the drinks are good. The seating is a bit cramped outside, but the view makes it worth it! If you are looking for a family friendly location with great views, I definitely recommend it.

Criss D — Google review

Let's be honest, you're not going here for the food. It's mediocre and over priced. We were a party of 7. For didn't arrive together. Got 3 meals, 4 more meals 20 minutes later, and the side of fries came as we were paying the bill. Salmon was slightly overcooked. Enchilada way dry and tasteless. Good burger and shrimp taco. Fries are great! The ambiance and views are fantastic. Lots of photo ops. Lots of shade patio seating.

My girlfriend and I attended a company party. They had a section closed off, with a fajita buffet, and an open bar. With all of that and the view, it was perfect. Had a lot of fun, and the food tasted so good. Especially the cheese sauce that comes with the chips. Amazing night.

I had a great time. The view of the lake was very beautiful and the atmosphere was quite peaceful. Our waitress Theresa was very attentive and she had a pleasant demeanor. The only downside to the experience was the extremely close table settings. It felt as if we were stacked and sitting on top of the next person. This was too close for comfort.

Angel F — Google review

Overall a 5 star worth experience. The views are gorgeous and you can see so much greenery amongst the city. Unfortunately the day we went was rainy so we couldn’t see sunset however I’m sure sitting on their deck on a sunny evening would be so amazing. They have made the place romantic by their lighting, views and the love locks. The drinks were great however the menu is quite average. They have basic Tex Mex style cuisine and few American fare items. We ordered a combo fajita which was good but nothing wow about it. We also had their tiramisu cheesecake which was delicious. Overall a wonderful experience and will come back whenever we get the opportunity to.

Kavitha K — Google review

I do not like being harsh about the food ... BUT.... the food is absolute trash. The menu needs a COMPLETE overhaul. The menu said fresh veggies for the salmon but it's obvious it's a frozen bag of mixed veggies grilled. The salmon had zero flavor along with the veggies. The rice was okay. Not bad. My friend had missing pesto / mayo sauce on her club sandwich and from someone who loves fries, she did not eat them.Overall, the food is NOT worth the price. Check out the beautiful sunset on a pull over spot on the way to the oasis. Save your money and go somewhere local for much cheaper. Or go check the sunset at Mozart. They have a deck that opens to the Colorado river/Travis lake area/ Austin lake area.*I added a picture of the sunset to save your money for that specific view.

Noelle D — Google review

This was my first time going to the Oasis. They food was great and the fajitas for one was actually enough for two people. The view of lake Travis is breath taking during the setting of the evening sun. This restaurant is huge consisting of multiple buildings . Each building is four to five stories surrounded by balconies and patio areas to dine and walk around taking pictures. If you have a lock you can lock it to the balconies rails to show your love for your significant other. If you didn't bring one the gift shop has plenty to sale. If you have it's worth checking out.

Walter W — Google review

It’s a nice restaurant to visit since you get a nice view of the lake and there’s a lot of spots where you could take nice pics. The food was good! We loved the cod bites, great choice for the appetizer. The other dishes were just okay. I feel like you could get them anywhere and probably a little better. The cocktail was on the sweeter side as well. Overall its not bad.

Albert H — Google review

Oh my gosh, this place is it!!! It’s like a vacation in one place. A hidden gem hidden in the hills of Austin, Texas. If you want it a little fancy, dine in doors, if you want it casual and fun, dine outdoors by the umbrellas. The view will take your breath away. I will say, there’s a lot of things to see do and purchase. Bring your spending money. You’ll want to take a souvenir home and also take lots of photos. Would I come here again? Heck yes! I’d bring my whole brood with me too.

Omg L — Google review

We came during the shift change which put us in a loop of no service for a bit but we were seated without wait. Once we got a service it was not bad. We were able to move seats outside on the patio because our original seat was full sun, no shade. Drinks were good and we only opted to get chips and guacamole which was refreshing.

Justen R — Google review

First time here, and it was pretty good. The shrimp and sausage plate could have been better the rice was a little to plain. The beef quesadilla could have used a little more beef. The cod appetizer was the best part of the meal. Will definitely return to try another dish. The view, the service and the environment was great

Michael G — Google review

Food is decent. Beautiful sunset view! Except when it went down we had no light at our table which is under the stairs. Eating with flashlights was definitely an experience.

Thao H — Google review

My second visit to Oasis after 7 years. Place remains same and the service was great. I tried their Enchiladas. It was good and not great. My friends had Fajitas Beef and Chicken and heard that it is good. It was a windy day, we were not allowed to sit outside. Sad to see dry Lake travis. Completely opposite experience compared to my last visit.

Vinoth S — Google review

Views were amazing and food was good. We had grilled salmon and chicken club sandwich. Service was great our server was a nice young man who was cordial and pleasant. There were many people but not too crowded. The places to take pictures were a bit crowded and we couldn't take a nice photo but it was alright.

Armela E — Google review

This is a legend for the Austin area. Spanning over 30,000 square feet and perched on the edge of Lake Travis, The Oasis offers a truly unique atmosphere and absolutely stunning views. Sunset offers the best views. This is a great location for evening drinks with friends. The downside is the limited menu and the prices. Food arrived quickly, but each of our entrees arriving at different times. Something to experience, but not for dinner.

Greg M — Google review

If you want a really nice view this is the place to eat. The food is decently good. The service is not worth what you pay. Nice people. Just very preoccupied. I would highly recommend the nachos! Great place for photos.

Mr. E — Google review

The views and restaurant are spectacular!! It definitely was worth checking out. There are several small gift shops in this area. Our waitress was friendly and handled our large party well. I ordered the Chicken club and the bread was amazing. I wasn't feeling the chicken and pulled it off the sandwich. Which was much better. I wish there was a BLT or wrap option on the menu. If we had more time I would have liked to do a kayak ride on the lake.

Laur W — Google review

Not a bad spot. Beautiful views and clean. Kelly was our waitress, she was very kind and helpful. Food wasn’t too bad. Mostly Texmex food. Pretty quick service as well. Price was pretty expensive but you’re paying for the view.

Eddy K — Google review

We didn't have any food , had an enjoyable time sightseeing & looking in the different little neat shops they have.We ordered drinks frozen daiquiris. The atmosphere was pleasant and really pretty. Went during a week day afternoon so it was not a crowd. The ambience was really nice and peaceful. Love the locks you can buy and hang up , then throw the key in the wishing well.

Lamonica S — Google review

The atmosphere is great specially during sunset. Had and opportunity to spend an amazing evening with my family. The first issue was the inattentive service. It seemed as though our server had other priorities and barely paid any attention to our table. We had to wait excessively for everything, from taking our orders to getting the check. He was checking on the table beside us but just ignored our table. What made matters worse was the uncomfortable feeling of discrimination. I couldn't help but notice that other tables received much more prompt and courteous service, making me question if it was due to some form of discrimination. Now, let's talk about the drinks – or should I say "juice." The cocktails we ordered were so watered down that I could hardly detect any trace of alcohol. It felt like I was sipping on fruit juice with spoons of sugars. It was a waste of both time and money. In the end, this restaurant left me with a sense of frustration and disappointment. I hope they can improve their service quality and ensure a fair and welcoming experience for all patrons in the future.

Bani T — Google review

So the views are great and the locks are cool. The food was just fine and so were the drinks. We did order the fireballs….big disappointment. They were just popcorn chicken and not even a tiny but spicy. Their fries are unique, we did like them….the restaurant is not affiliated with the oasis brewery next door, which was odd. They also do not sell any of their beers. I would return because the views are wonderful, but food overall was just fine. Service was kind of slow. Our waiter had tables inside and outside and they seemed short staffed

This is a must-go if you visit Austin. The views are amazing, especially during sunset. The food variety is okay. The food quality is good, but not great. The drinks are really good. The prices are a little bit higher than I would expect for the food, but the views to Lake Travis make it worth it. My favorite dish on the menu is the Combo Fajitas for 2. It's the item that's most worth your money based on quantity and quality. The servers are nice and took great care of us.Overall great experience, I go there every time I visit Austin.

Visiting this gem in Austin, TX, on the first day of 2024 was a truly unforgettable experience. Renowned as 'The Sunset Capital of Texas,' it's easy to see why. The stunning sunset views from here are unparalleled, offering a kaleidoscope of colors that seem almost surreal. It's a sight that attracts people from all corners of the world, and rightfully so.Our evening began with delicious burgers and refreshing margaritas, setting the tone for a delightful dining experience. The ambiance is cozy yet vibrant, perfect for both casual and special occasions. What adds to the charm of this place is the unique Sunset Bell tradition and the fascinating annual Sunset Photo Contest. These customs not only enhance the dining experience but also create a sense of community among visitors. For those looking for a romantic gesture, the Lover's Locks tradition is a beautiful way to leave a lasting symbol of love and friendship. The Oasis also offers versatile spaces for private events, from intimate gatherings to grand weddings, each spot offering breathtaking views and an exceptional setting. In summary, this restaurant is not just about dining; it's about creating memories. From the picturesque sunsets to the engaging traditions and excellent service, it's a must-visit destination in Austin.

Service was on point, the food was absolutely delicious, and the view was phenomenal. It's everything you'd want from a restaurant on the lake, and so much more. Highly recommended, hope to be back again in the future!

Oasis restaurant offers an exquisite dining experience with its fantastic Mexican cuisine and breathtaking views overlooking the lake. The flavors in their dishes are a true delight, and the scenic beauty adds an extra layer of enjoyment to the meal. A must-visit for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience! 100% recommended

Service was amazing. We went on a Saturday around 11:30 a.m. and we were promptly seated. Jackson was very attentive. The outdoor bathrooms had not been unlocked so I walked all over the place before being directed inside to use the bathroom. The food was good, but a bit overpriced. Chips and salsa aren't free. You pay about 7 bucks for bottomless chips and salsa. Chicken quesadillas were about 25 bucks and about the same for the beef enchilada platter. I'm sure you're paying more for the experience as this place is massive. If you don't like bugs flying around then it's best to sit inside. There were tiny bugs flying around and my daughter saw a few in her cup so she lost her appetite after that. Suggestion for the owner, lid covers for the plastic cups. I will definitely be back, but would dine inside if my daughter accompanies me again. 🙂

I recently visited The Oasis on Lake Travis, and it was an unforgettable experience. The views are simply breathtaking, offering a stunning backdrop that enhances every moment. The drinks were exceptional, expertly crafted and refreshing—perfect for soaking in the scenery. What truly stood out, though, was the service. The staff were attentive, friendly, and made sure we felt welcome throughout our visit. Whether you're there for a special occasion or just a casual outing, The Oasis is a must-visit spot. Highly recommended!

What a beautiful place is this.Parking is decent you have paid parking as well as free parking, parking is huge.It is an absolutely beautiful place for sunset time. The views are fantastic, you can spend hours here. Food and drinks with family or as a couple anyways can’t go wrong. So many restaurants and breweries. Big seating areas you can grab and sit out eating with awesome views of sunset.

Vijay D — Google review

Most people are probably here for the view (beautiful especially at sunset: but it does get busy around that time), but the food is honestly pretty good. Their coke-marinated chicken and enchiladas were all delicious!

Eileen H — Google review

My first time here and I loved it! We stopped here after our hike and it was perfect... crowded but perfect! We had drinks and dessert and sat outside overlooking Lake Travis and thoroughly relaxed and enjoyed ourselves. Service was fast and amazing which was surprising with the sheer size of this place! We will definitely be back!

Roxanne R — Google review

I always love the Oasis. Beautiful views and great drinks. The food is OK, but could use a little work. Overall I would highly recommend this place. The atmosphere is amazing. If you're lucky enough to get Hero as your server, it's all the more better. I had the blackened salmon but wasn't really blackened.

James P — Google review

Restaurant with beautiful Sunset view! 🤩The restaurant is located on multiple floors with great views of the lake Travis. 😍The food options are pretty standard for any restaurant. The taste was alright but did not meet our expectations. The menu is clearly labeled. There are a few vegetarian options and are clearly labeled 🌱The service is great and the staff is friendly 😊This place is always crowded on the weekends and is pretty difficult to get seating. Wait time is at least 30-45min.

Rachana E — Google review

The Oasis is a BEAUTIFUL restaurant with astonishing views! Arrived during sunset, did not get to sit outdoors since there was a long wait. Nevertheless, we were seated at a decent spot. Matt was our server and he was so kind and attentive, he made our visit a pleasant one! Would come back!

Visiting and eating at The Oasis is an experience everyone should have when they visit the Austin area. It is snuggled into a hill overlooking the tantalizing waters of Lake Travis, allowing you to soak in the beauty of your surroundings.Whether you are outside enjoying the warm Texas sun or inside, thanking your lucky stars for air-conditioning, there is always something to behold. The inside of The Oasis boasts gorgeous stained glass windows, intricate (and a little eccentric) wall and lighting decor, and, of course, a view of Lake Travis regardless of where you are sitting. They have an array of food items that are absolutely delicious. I highly suggest, along with your entree(s), you go all out with an appetizer, a fruity cocktail (or two), and dessert. You can go casual with family and friends or make it a romantic date night. Either way, you will not regret it.

Absolutely beautiful sunsets and the food was great! We read some mixed reviews about the food on different blogs, but we loved our meals and apps. The drinks were great and all of the staff were fun and customer focused. Get there early if you want a great sunset view!

Daniel M — Google review

You must visit this place! this amazing, it's in Lake Travis about 25 minutes from Austin, tx but it's very worth it. this beautiful, too many places to take nice pictures, they have a souvenir shop. They have several restaurants and bars, as well as shops. some shops are closed. the view of the lake is beautiful without a doubt the best of the place. you can make reservations for events and has ample parking apart which is free.

Nadia B — Google review

Beautiful restaurant with breathtaking views. Thats as good as it gets. The food is not good at all … so disappointing… nachos and jalapeno with stuffed crab were flavorless , chips and salsa are not complimentary. I recommend a nice drink and to dine elsewhere.

Shon H — Google review

I always wanted to have dinner there, especially because of the view. I was in Austin for the weekend visiting friends so i didn't want to miss the opportunity. Unfortunately, we didn't get the best seats. I was a little disappointed that all the good spots with nice view were taken. We ordered beef fajitas, pretty good, the service was not too bad, but our waiter wasn't friendly at all. My favorite part of dinner part was the margaritas, excellent! Overall, it's a very nice place but I would advise to get there early on weekends. Oh, and it's really windy up there!

This place is a must visit when in Austin. This place has phenomenal views of lake Travis. The 5 ⭐️ is mainly for the spectacular views , Vibe and service . Food was alright the serving size is big . The veg fajitas were good. Fried pickles were good. Drinks are very very good. It was still very lively for a weekday lunch..The cute gift shop is a must visitHighlights : You can lock your oasis memory on the gates of our decks to commemorate that important moment.

The best place to enjoy drinks and snacks with amazing views of the lake and mountain. The best time to visit is around the sunset to have great views. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Their beers are good, but food menu is not so good.

Jayrj D — Google review

Unique place located in a unique site, with a unique views of the Colorado River, and about 16 miles from Austin!Their food comes in good portions at a reasonable price. Variety of drinks are available at their main bar, which gives you a good reason to go explore the place and get distracted taking pictures of one of their many whimsical sculptures.Definitely recommend this place for a quick bite and drinks or simply stroll around and capture a couple of pics!

The Oasis is at the top of my list when we travel to Austin. We enjoyed the beef nachos, and it tasted so good! Our waiter was very welcoming, and the service was excellent 👍🏻 I definitely love the atmosphere there~ waiting for the beautiful sunset is absolutely worth it :)—A perfect little getaway trip from Dallas to Austin.

Angel H — Google review

Beautiful view, the service was pretty good but definitely clear that they have 2,500 seats at this restaurant. This place is great because of the view not the food. It is EXTREMELY overpriced for what it is, but either way the view was beautiful. We sat on the patio, and they had a sun shade and very large fans to help cool off the area. Overall good experience!

Kylie B — Google review

Man it's been a minute since I've been here. This place is massive with deck upon deck upon deck of lakeside view seating. I hate to sound like ole granny right now - but I remember coming here when it was just a simple deck outside lol.Our waitress was AMAZING, I wish I could remember her name to give her a shout out. She was on it with our service and extra great with the kiddos.Food was okay/good.... I feel the price is paying more for the place and lake experience vs the quality and uniqueness of the food itself. If you have the time to drive out here and are visiting from out of town, I can see the draw to coming and trying it out. It's for sure a beautiful view.

Michelle T — Google review

We were visiting Austin and heard about The Oasis and had to check it out. We arrived about 30 minutes before sunset and we were seated right away. We asked for a table with a view and we were originally seated about 3 rows back from the railing on an outside deck. I asked if there was a table with a better view and they told me there wasn’t. As soon as we sat down, though, another table opened up at the railing and our server acted quickly to get us moved to the better table. We really appreciated it!The food was mediocre but the view was amazing! James, our server, was fabulous! He came by several times to check on us, he made good recommendations for food and drinks, and he was personable. We never felt like we needed anything because he was on top of it.It is a tradition for people to put locks on the railing and other places to commemorate special events or relationships. They sell the locks in the gift shop but they are $17 and are just flimsy locks that should cost about $5. So, if you want to do that, you might want to bring your own.The view was amazing. I did have a lot of mosquito bites that showed up the next day, though, so bring or wear bug repellant.

The Oasis belongs to the following category: "you have to see it to believe it". It is truly a remarkable one-of-a-kind venue! Built on a cliff over Lake Travis, facing full west, this behemoth of a restaurant is built like a tree house. 4-5 floors, 3,000 seats, 500 employees, and open terraces with a $100 Million view. The food was good but honestly, was not the focus. It is a style I'd define as Texican, with every dish landing on our table within 10 min max. The staff members we interacted with were friendly and helpful, happy to tell us the story of this 40 year old gem. Sunset was magnificent and the crowds were there to enjoy it. If you are in the area, go check it out. It is worth the drive!

Really cool spot to visit. The views were gorgeous and the food was really good as well. The staff were all really nice and welcoming. The oasis has a very interesting and cool atmosphere to it. It was absolutely worth stopping it was one of the best views I’ve ever seen the pictures really don’t do it justice. Will definitely visit again.

“Our recent visit to Oasis was an absolute delight! Nestled in the heart of Austin, this place is an enchanting oasis indeed. The scenery is breathtaking, with lush greenery and picturesque views that are simply perfect for photography enthusiasts. While the food may come with a slightly higher price tag, it’s undeniably worth it for the culinary experience alone. The ambiance is serene, making it an ideal spot for a relaxing day out. Whether you’re a foodie or a photography buff, Oasis is sure to leave you with unforgettable memories. Highly recommended!”

We came to enjoy our anniversary after hearing about the beautiful views. I agree this is the best place to overlook the lake and the place itself is beautiful. Seating was fast and the service was good but the food wasn’t anything amazing, it’s overpriced and it’s very touristy having to purchase the glass for the drink you ordered. Being our first time there we were unaware that the other buildings are mostly empty, it’s kinda sad seeing it because I am sure that at one time it was a bustling place. I’m not saying to not visit this place, please do, but know you’re paying prime for the view.

Sherri D — Google review

This is a beautiful place to take in the views of Lake Travis! The drinks are great with so many options and choices. At the brewery part, you can order light fare eats at the counter and take a seat outside to watch the sunset. The weekends are packed with people! So I'd suggest a weeknight, not Friday. But amazing and breathtaking views with lake, sun, rolling hills of homes and trees. But I think we would of enjoyed more if we had come Monday night. The views are worth the drive, leaving be patient on the windy roads and traffic light backs up to get out to main roads. We probably sat 4 to 6 cycles with all the people leaving. Have a designated driver and be safe these roads are very dark at night and very curvy and up and down hills! Want you all to arrive safely for future endeavors to this Oasis beauty on a hill top!

This is one of my favorite eateries in Austin. Always liked it. The food servings are generous and tasty. The service is a disaster. They brought the fajitas before the ceviche appetizer, which ruined it for me as the fajitas got cold by the time I finished the appetizer. The manager was indifferent. The waitress transferred my table to a new guy to slip away from her responsibilities. Made me feel like I was supposed to leave. I won’t be back unfortunately after this. Pity, it used to be a great place.

Amazing place to see the beautiful sunset while enjoying the lunch/dinner and have refreshing drinks. We went for the dinner and had a table on one of the outdoor patio. All of a sudden it started to rain. Our waiter was very helpful and we were lucky to get the table under the roof (still outdoor) and continue enjoying our dinner.Overall we had a great time there. Strongly recommended to visit!

The main attraction is the view. Prices are high, portions are huge. Service is pretty good, except how they “force” you to pay 20% tip on a 5 guest table. Never seen that before. Fajitas and shrimp for 2 can feed 2 1/2 and are awesome! Enchiladas can feed 2. This place is basically a place with a beautiful view that serves food.

Jesus G — Google review

Such a fun and happy place! Staff is amazing. Views even better. Atmosphere is so much fun! Great for all ages. Little shops and silver jewelry, and stunning metal sculptures everywhere. Artistic and creative vibe overlooking Lake Travis. Even summer evenings have a pleasant breeze and shade umbrellas. We sat outside and were happy and comfortable. Thursday was perfect. Lively but no wait. The weekends have long wait times. Everyone should go at least once.

Dianne C — Google review

The place may be a little overrated due to its sunset viewing attractions. Great tourist attraction but when it comes to quality of food and service, it's at most 3/5. Flavor does not stand out and difficult to find your server and get seated. It's a good if one never been before and will not be my regulars
